Where does the time go?

I realize that this will be my second post with no new pictures of sweet little Ryleigh Jane, but I wanted to talk about something that has been on my mind. When did life get so busy? It seems like every year older we get, the busier and less time we have. What happened to the endless days of summer when you were just 8 or 9 years old. You could play all day long and the daylight seemed to go on forever. You may have to go to dance practice or a birthday party over the weekend, but it seemed like time was stretched out so far between days, weekends, weeks, and months. These days, I feel so busy all the time. I know part of it is my OCD-ness, but it really feels like every weekend I have committed myself to doing something (especially chores) that will only take a couple of hours, but it eats my entire day.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love being social and spending time with my family and friends probably more than the average person, but I feel like sometimes I just need to stop and breathe and look around for a few minutes before something else changes. I realized how fast time is flying this weekend when we celebrated my nephew's 15th birthday. I started dating Brad when Clay was just 3 years old wearing his baby speedo. He has turned into such a handsome and fun guy (I'm sure he would love to know that I posted about his speedo on the internet). I thought to myself, if these 12 years have gone by this fast, I will blink and Ryleigh Jane will be grown up herself. Sad, but exciting to say the least! I am loving every minute of my life right now, no matter how fast it is flying by. I guess I just need to remember to stop and take mental pictures every now and then. Hopefully when I am older, those mental pictures and little movies will still be with me and bring a sweet, fulfilling smile to my old, wrinkled face.
