Two weekends ago, I planned a surprise birthday party for Brad's 30th birthday. That was probably one of the hardest things to keep as a secret from him. I kept making plans and almost "slipping up" and telling him about all the fun stuff we were gonna do. I also kept wanting to tell him so-and-so RSVP'd, and I would snap my mouth shut really quickly. When you tell your husband/best friend everything, it is really hard to keep such a thing completely to yourself. Anyway! We pulled the party off successfully. He went golfing and tail-gating with Chris, and then he came to the house around 6:30 that night. He was very surprised, and very touched by all the people that came to show that they love him, which was a lot. It was also a sort of congrats for passing the BAR exam all rolled into the surprise party. Here is a picture of his cake.

She is crawling in that second one :) Her ability to crawl was revealed to us on the morning of Brad's birthday! She likes to give us things like that for special occasions. The first time she laughed out loud was on mother's day.
