Brad and I have had the best time here in Vancouver. It was really nice to reconnect as a couple, which is so important in these busy times we are living in. We have eaten some of the best food I have had in a long time. I bet I have gained at least 5 lbs since being here! We have done things like drive to Whistler, which is a ski city where the 2010 Winter Olympics will have a lot of events. We rode the gondola across 2 mountain peaks over 6000 feet in the air
. Brad, who is afraid of heights, just sat really still and wouldn't look out the window
. I thought he was gonna have a panic attack there for a minute, but he made it through and said he even enjoyed it a little. We have eaten a meal on the side of a mountain, in the #1 rated restaurant in Vancouver
, and also in the spinning observatory that is high above the city (think Seattle space needle style). Brad has even eaten fish several times, a challenge I have never won before now. The seafood (not fried) and sushi is sooooo much better than anything you can find in our area of the US. I have learned a lot in class, and I think I have seen more pictures of implants and bleeding gums than I ever thought I wanted to.
All in all it has been a really good trip! In one way I am sad because I know that we won't be able to do this again for a long time. These kind of trips don't happen very often, not for us anyway. BUT! In about 48 hours, I will be back at home with my baby. I have missed her more than I could imagine (and what I imagined was pretty horrible), and every baby I see I just want to run up and give it a big hug and kiss. I hope she is just as excited as I am about being reunited! Anyway! It's been a blast. We fly back home on Sunday bright and early in the morning. Pray that we have a safe flight and drive home. Monday, we will be back to the grind! See you then :)
Looks like yall have had a great time! I knew yall would be fine. I saw Ryleigh Tuesday and she was all smiles. She was doing this "huh huh huh huh" noise in a whisper voice I had not heard before... very cute. She thought it was funny. She told me she cannot wait until tomorrow! Have a safe trip coming home!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like y'all had a great time! I'm so proud of you keeping your blog up to date! Maybe I'll get to work on mine one of these days! Until then, I will just enjoy reading yours!
ReplyDeleteFun trip!! I am with you on not wanting to leave the babies. I don't see how you did it. I am sure she was glad to see her momma and daddy!
ReplyDeleteI also meant to say...in that picture of Brad by the stream, he actually looks like could pass for a REAL country boy!
