A Sweet Memory...

Today, I was a little nostalgic, and I started thinking about mine and Brad's Christmases we have shared.  There have been a lot of fun ones and a couple of memorable ones as well.  I remember our first Christmas together, the one when we got engaged, pregnant Christmas, RJ's first Christmas, but the most memorable one to me was our first married Christmas together in Jackson.  I was super stressed out because it was my first year of dental school, and we were in the middle of Gross Anatomy. We were pretty poor, so funds were really tight.  Christmas is definitely my favorite holiday, so I was also a little bummed that we didn't have a tree yet or any decorations by the second week of December.  My grandfather had also just died.  It was a rough time as you can see.  We kept promising each other that we would get around to doing the Christmas stuff, but it just wasn't happening.
One night I went to the gross anatomy lab to study right after supper, and I told Brad that I wouldn't be home until really late because we had a test in the next couple of days.  I stayed up there for hours, and drug myself home close to midnight.  I unlocked the door and walked in to a winter wonderland.  I immediately began crying.  Brad had taken the time to go buy a tree, put it up, put the lights on it, string some lights on the mantle, and had what little amount of ornaments I had out and ready to put on the tree.  He was asleep on the couch.  I was so surprised and completely blown away by his thoughtfulness and kindness.  It immediately improved my mood 1000%.  It made me realize the kind of person I had married.  He is still just like that too.  He can be the sweetest, most thoughtful guy.  I don't always give him enough credit, but I think he is pretty awesome :)  Merry Christmas, Brad, and I look forward to many more of those times together!
Our first house and tree :)  That was a blanket he used around the bottom because we didn't have a Christmas tree skirt, nor the money to buy one.  Love is Bliss!
