Competition time!!

Ryleigh Jane really liked doing her solo last year, and she really improved a lot from last year to this year, so we let her do it as many times as she wanted.  I think in all she did 9 competitions, and she came in second every single time except for three!  I am so proud of her for being so brave, working so hard, and having the determination it takes to compete at this level.  Some of these competitions had 30 girls in her category!!  Here is a list of her awards:

DTU (Hattiesburg and Vicksburg): 2nd overall petite mini solo
DMI (Mobile and Baton Rouge): 9th overall junior solo
Hollywood Vibe: 2nd overall mini solo
KAR: 2nd overall secondary solo and 2nd runner-up to title
Starpower: World Dance Pageant scholarship winner, 1st runner up to title, and 2nd overall advanced petite solo
Dance Magic: 4th overall pee wee solo, 2nd runner up to title
Bravo: Miss Petite Bravo title winner, 1st overall petite solo

They also did so well as a group for Company 1!

Beach Babes (Jazz):
DTU: Diamond, 2nd overall petite small group
Starpower: 5 stars, 1st overall advanced petite group, overall high score of the day, Golden Ticket award
Bravo: Platinum, 4th overall petite small group

Smile (Lyrical):
DTU: Diamond, 1st overall petite small group
KAR: Elite Top 1st, 1st overall petite small group, technique award
Starpower: 5 stars, 2nd overall advanced petite group
Bravo: Platinum, 3rd Overall petite small group

We also competed Smile as a trio with RJ, Presley, and Harper Anne at DMI.  We only had 3 practices to revamp the dance, and won the entire junior category at this very tough competition!  I was so blown away and proud :)

I cannot say enough great things about DanceSouth!  We love our group and teachers so much!!  Looking forward to all the fun we will have in the future!
